Is there a difference between “panic attacks” and “anxiety attacks”?
Question by :]: Is there a difference between “panic attacks” and “anxiety attacks”?
My mom says that panic attacks are more servere but I think that they are the same thing, both brought on by anxiety and if you have recurrent episodes you have a panic disorder….

No. They are the same.
They have the same effects but their occurrence and reasons they occur is what classifies them as panic and anxiety.

I think if a person says they have panic attacks their experience is quite frightening for them. If a person says they have anxiety attacks, this does not seem to be quite as intense as a panic attack. I think this is a very subjective experience for each person. The description a person uses tells us how they experience the problem. Good Luck.
