?Too often panic or anxiety attacks are seen as an emotional problem needing deep counseling and stress management techniques as well as a plethora of anti-anxiety medications to “cure” the afflicted one. This is not to say these well-trod avenues don’t have their place, but it seems the chronic root cause just could be overlooked in the haste to quell the attacks. The key word here would be “chronic”, in that most likely the cause of these attacks have been months, even years in the making. That’s often a hard pill to swallow in that it implies it just may take some time to get the ball rolling in the other direction, in terms of the desired control and peace. This is really not necessarily the case, in that a solution may be a simple decision away.

The issue at hand regarding anxiety attacks is that nutrition from the foods ingested day in and day out really does have an influence not only on physical growth and development, but on brain function, hormonal activity and balance, and thus the overall emotional state of the individual. When the brain consistently does not get the nutrients it requires to function at optimal levels, or other outside influences in the environment negatively affect the digestion and absorption of the nutrients provided, as in the case of medications side effects, or alcohol consumption, it is just a matter of time before the nervous system feels the impact. The body can compensate for the lack of nutrients or other stressors that affect digestion for awhile, but over time symptoms will begin to develop, including nervous system stress.

It is not common knowledge, but science has determined that the gut is actually the “second brain” in the body. For instance, it has been discovered that roughly 70% of the serotonin, a calming neurotransmitter normally connected with the brain, is actually produced in the stomach. In order for this neurotransmitter to be readily available and useful to the body when needed, however, we must have a healthy “internal flora” in the gut—that is, a well-functioning digestive system. Therefore, the gut, and its functionality is really at the root of anxiety issues. The simple decision would be to determine to encourage healthy digestion through supplementing the diet with probiotics (friendly bacteria) and digestive enzymes. The diet should include whole foods with enzymes available such as raw fruit and vegetables, and fiber sources. It is also imperative at the same time to begin to eliminate junk food in the forms of fast foods and sodas. The high fructose corn syrup found in many pre-sweetened drinks is very damaging to the body and it’s nervous system and is to be avoided–so read your labels!

Studies have shown amino acids supplements to be very helpful in balancing brain chemistry. Amino acids are the “building blocks” of protein, and are easily absorbed into the system, providing vital nourishment for the brain, easing anxiety and creating a calm, peaceful state of mind. In addition, supplemental B complex vitamins, which are easily lost when under stress, are vital for brain and nerve activity. These vitamins are water soluble, meaning that stress in any form, whether it be mechanical, nutritional or emotional, can deplete them quickly. Many symptoms as simple as eye twitches to serious disease states could be alleviated with the supplementation of B Complex vitamins. Be aware that to limit your supplementation to one or two of the Complex (for example, B1 and B6) would run the risk of developing a deficiency of some of the others, therefore always include all of the B Complex vitamins in one complete formula.

The importance and benefit of taking a serious look at your nutrient intake when facing anxiety attacks, in addition to other stress reduction techniques cannot be over-stressed. This would include using probiotics to heal and strengthen the gut flora, especially if antibiotics have been used, and supplementing the diet with digestive enzymes to assist in the absorption of serotonin and other important nutrients for their calming effect on the nervous system. Then, once the digestive system is up and running, consider supplementing with amino acids and the complete B Complex vitamins on a regular basis as well in seeking to nourish the brain and nervous system. This is a balanced plan just about anyone who is serious about recovery to the fullest extent can and should implement so they can get on with enjoying their life to the fullest.

Jane Hilt, CNHP, B.S Nutrition and Digestive Enzyme Specialist, has had personal experiences with panic attacks in the past which actually motivated her to pursue an education in the field of Natural Health Sciences. She found great relief through the addition of probiotics and enzymes for better digestion, and through the use of liquid amino acids and B-Complex vitamins to support a strong healthy nervous system.

If you have suffered from panic attacks you are well aware of the extreme fear that consumes you. You wonder if you may die or perhaps lose control and maybe even lose your mind. Once you have a panic attack you immediately become obsessed with the fear and dread of your having another attack. These feelings of dread, along with the panic attacks themselves, will control your life unless you take action to understand them. Once you understand them you can make great strides in controlling them.

During a panic attack, you may experience one or many of the following symptoms:

- An odd feeling of mental detachment or separation from the people or activities going on around you.

- Dizziness and light headed as though you may pass out at any moment.

- Tightness and/or pain in your chest which you may mistake for a heart attack.

- An overwhelming sensation that something terrible is about to happen at any moment.

- Difficulty breathing or swallowing.

As terrifying as these sensations my be, in reality they cannot harm you. Of course, when you are experiencing a panic attack no one could make you actually believe these thoughts and feelings are harmless. In fact, you are positive that you are in danger which is the very reason your body is reacting in this manner.

In order to ever find relief from panic, you must learn for yourself that you are not in any danger. Only then will you conquer your panic attacks. If the solution was as simple as someone telling you everything will be OK, then the millions of Americans who suffer from these attacks could be cured instantly.

- Physical or mental abuse during your life.

You have your hotdogs and buns ready for tonight’s barbeque; the checkout line has been long although there is only one customer between you and the cashier when a strange sensation begins to creep over you. Your throat begins to tighten as you take a hard swallow. Then your chest begins to tighten and you feel short of breath. You feel your heart start to race that leaves you feeling as if you want to disappear. Not here, you plead inside, not here.

You glance around to make sure you are safe however, there are several strangers behind you and one other customer in front. You realize you are beginning to have a panic attack while your skin begins to prickle all over as a rush of doom washes over you.
There is no doubt in your mind now that this is going to be a big one. Okay, focus. Remember what you have been taught, it is time to apply the coping techniques. Begin the deep breathing exercise your doctor recommended. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

Slowly now, remembering to think relaxing thoughts and again, while inhaling, tell yourself to relax then exhale. However, it seems that you may be feeling very self-conscious of concentrating on breathing and even more stressed than before.

Okay, coping technique 2: Gradual muscle relaxation. Tense both shoulders, hold for 10 seconds, then release. Try it again. No, still no difference. The anxiety is getting worse and the very fact that you are out of coping techniques worsens your panic. If only you were surrounded by your family, or a close friend were beside you so you could feel more confident in dealing with this situation.

Your body stings with the tingling as adrenaline pumps faster in your body, you then feel the terror of losing your complete control right there in the check out line. However, for those around you it is just another day and they have no sense of how you are feeling.

If you feel you are out of options, the next coping procedure is to flee. A confused cashier watches as you lay your shopping behind on her counter, and you make your escape and exit out of the door. Once out of the supermarket you get into your car and begin to ride it out alone. You struggle within as you wonder, could this be the big one. The attack you fear most, one that will push you past your limits both physically and mentally. The panic subsides within ten minutes or so.

To someone who suffers from panic attack the scenario above can seen alarmingly familiar. In fact, it is possible just reading this article that the feelings of panic and anxiety are starting to well up within ou. Everyone is different; therefore, it is normal that their triggers for attacks may differ. A panic attack can occur anywhere at any time.

Hopefully, you can take comfort in knowing that you are not alone, and that everyone experiences that same acute sense of approaching horror when experiencing an anxiety attack. It is a feeling so strong that you may feel as though you are about to perish on the spot or lose your mind altogether.

Did you know that in the United States that the estimate of those stricken by panic attacks is nearly five percent?. For many individuals their episodes are triggered by the expectation of dealing with others while speaking. Then there are those who suffer daily and have become homebound by the frequency of their panic attacks. Often panic attacks that develop frequently are referred to as anxiety or panic disorder by the medical profession.

But all is not lost – with some simple yet effective panic attack techniques, you can start to gain control over your emotions once again.

You see, the trick to handling such attacks is the want of having one – as the wanting actually pushes the attack away. You just need to realize that which you oppose will actually endure. This also applies to the fear you feel. To stop opposing you must move towards it, into the path of the anxiety, and by doing so, it cannot endure.

What this means is if you try daily to have an attack on your own you will not have an attack at all. Try it right now; you can’t do it, can you? Whether you realize it or not, you have always chosen to panic. You make the choice when you tell yourself that things are beyond your control.

You should keep in mind that the racing of your heart or the panic you feel will not cause you harm; you are perfectly safe, although you may feel overwhelmed, you are safe from harm. It is in your best interest to choose not to have a panic attack.

I know the intentions were good, but the help and advice I got for how to overcome panic attacks, from people who didn’t suffer from them, was just rubbing salt into the wound. It’s no good trying to overcome fear, when your biggest fear is the fear of fear itself.

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. You say your worried about flying, and they just tell you that’s irrational, they run off loads of numbers and statistics to convince you that flying is the safest transport in the world. Thanks, I already knew that. But what do the statistics say about the chances that somebody who suffers from panic attacks, will get an attack, while flying? It’s the bit they don’t understand.

At least with flying people accept that you might have fear, you just can’t explain to people how you can get an attack in a supermarket, or just sitting at home.

My doctor was very sympathetic, but you could tell he didn’t really understand the issue, he just knew the textbook solution. Tranquilizers. OK, drugs can help you stop a panic attack, if you take enough of them you end being so drowsy you don’t feel anything. But then you can’t drive, or work, and you never get any enjoyment out of anything.

But I found the worst bit was trying to stop using them just made things worse. If I didn’t take the medication, then I was afraid that I would get an attack, and the anxiety of getting a panic attack just made the attack more real, I got more anxious about the fact I didn’t have the medication to help me through the attack.

It always boiled down to the same thing, the slightest fear or doubt, however minimal, just creates more anxiety, the fear of the attack itself. It’s just a vicious loop of self generated anxiety.

I found lot’s of things that helped, and they did help with avoiding panic attacks, or getting through them. But they didn’t eliminate them. The big question for me was how to overcome panic attacks, how to eliminate them.

It was the Internet that taught me how to overcome panic attacks. When I started surfing I could find so much more information than before, I was no longer limited to the advice of my friends and local doctors, who didn’t suffer from these attacks themselves.

On the Internet, I found people who have been through the same nightmare, people who could explain what is happening, people who had been through it all themselves. Understanding what’s actually happening was the key to being able to eliminate them, and leading a normal life again.

There is one key factor that makes the difference between those who fully eliminate panic attacks from their lives and those who do not. The key ingredient is not medication, lifestyle changes, or relaxation exercises.

Are you looking for a way to help your child with anxiety?

Anxiety in children is a devastating problem for both parent and child, but one that doesn’t have to be permanent. There are many steps that you as a parent can take to help rid your child of anxiety.

It’s not uncommon for children to experience several forms of anxiety at some point while growing up. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) are the two most common forms of anxiety that plague children.

So what can you do to help your child with anxiety? Well, the very first step is to identify the problem. You need to be sure that your child actually has an anxiety problem before you decide to treat them for it. Most children exhibit many different behaviors that are often mistaken for anxiety.

For instance, your child may cry and hang on you before you leave your home. This is often a common reaction that many children have when faced with separation from a parent. However, you need to be able to determine if this behavior is excessive. There is a difference between expected behavior and excessive behavior.

Once you have determined that your child has a problem with anxiety, the first thing you should do is consult a licensed medical professional. They are really the only people who are fit to diagnose and treat your child properly. There are many great information products that can assist you in caring for your child, but it’s up to your child’s physician or therapist to determine the level in which the parent should be involved in treatment.

A common misconception is that taking your child to a medical professional will always result in treatment with pharmaceuticals. This is definitely not the case. There are many different accepted methods of treatment, like cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychotherapy and behavioral therapies that do not involve the use of drugs.

Herbal remedies may also be considered, but should always be approved by a physician. Many physicians have no problem allowing herbal treatments in conjunction with their own when it comes to helping your child with anxiety.

A change in diet is also a healthy way to combat anxiety. Cutting out caffeine and controlling sugar intake, along with minimizing the use of decongestants and asthma medications can play a big role in helping control anxiety in children. Initiating better sleep habits will also make a difference, such as setting regular bedtime and wakeup times.

The most important thing to remember is that anxiety in your child can be treated and will be cured. If you approach the problem with an open mind and willingness to help, you will find that your child is returned to the best health in no time and will remain anxiety free.

If you suspect your child is suffering from anxiety and would like more information on how you can help them, I recommend looking into The Anxiety Free Child Program. You can get the information you need at: http://anxiety-free-children.info.

Everyone knows what it is like to feel anxious – your heart pounds, you feel flush and tense. For some, this emotion is triggered by a traumatic event such as a car accident. For others, small things like being late for a meeting trigger this emotion. But at what point does a general anxious emotion become an anxiety disorder?

Anxiety disorders aren’t just a case of “nerves”. They are illnesses often related to the biological makeup and life experiences of an individual.

There are several types of anxiety disorders, each with its own distinct features. Generalized anxiety disorder is more than the normal day-to-day anxiety people experience. It is chronic, constant and exaggerated worry and tension over minor things that occur in daily life.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), “having this disorder means always anticipating disaster, often worrying excessively about health, money, family or work”.

A person with generalized anxiety disorder usually demonstrates symptoms of poor sleeping patterns and the inability to relax.

Panic disorder is another type of anxiety disorder. People with panic disorder have feelings of terror that can occur suddenly. Because these attacks occur without warning, the individual spends time consumed with worry that another attack could happen at any minute.

When a panic attack strikes, a person might feel faint, dizzy, weak or sweaty. During these attacks individuals can experience chest pain or believe they are going to die.

Studies from the NIMH indicate that panic disorder affects between three and six million Americans. Like other anxiety disorders, it is twice as common in women as in men and most often begins in young adulthood. The NIMH also points to studies that show that cognitive-behavioral therapy, medication or a combination of the two can help between 70 to 90 percent of people with panic disorder.

Phobias are also a type of anxiety disorder. While there are several different categories of phobias, each involve an intense irrational fear of some sort. Characteristics might include fear of people, heights or closed-in-places. Again, with the right combination of medication and/or therapy, phobias are treatable.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) also falls under the category of anxiety disorders. This illness involves a pressing need to do everything in a ritualistic manner. People with OCD might be obsessed with germs or dirt and wash their hands a lot.

Many healthy people can identify with having some symptom of OCD, such as checking the stove several times before leaving the house, but the disorder is diagnosed only when such activities consume at least an hour a day, are distracting and interfere with daily life.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating condition that follows a terrifying event. Often people with PTSD relive a traumatic event over and over causing them to feel emotionally numb. Recollections of the event consume their thoughts and can cause repeated nightmares.

Once believed to effect war veterans exclusively, PTSD (formally referred to as shell shock or battle fatigue) is now the diagnosis for individuals experiencing similar symptoms after a traumatic event, rape, kidnapping or car accident.

The important thing to remember about anxiety disorders, no matter what type, is that they are treatable. How the disorder is treated varies with each individual.

Leading a normal life with a panic disorder is extremely difficult and disturbing. Most people suffering from panic attacks tend to see every situation as a possible threat and hence live every single day trying to avoid meeting people, traveling, living alone, getting into conflicts or arguments etc.

I can empathize with people suffering from this disorder as I myself was a victim of it for a long time. But, thankfully, the modern days have come up with numerous modern ways to deal with this problem, thus relieving many people of their agony. Read on as I explain to you how I was freed from my panic attacks.

When panic attacks get the better of you, most people would prefer immediate relief and hence turn to drugs. But as you keep taking these drugs, you will realize that not only does it make your condition worse, but you reach a point where you just cannot stop taking these drugs and then you end up ruining your physical and mental health. The root of the problem, the reason for the attacks, the reason for not being able to perceive a situation in the right manner, all these problems cannot be set right by the use of drugs. They only give you symptomatic relief when you are extremely nervous, or you have a racing pulse or you are sweating profusely, when you feel like someone is strangling you etc.

When a situation is perceived as a small trigger, most normal people react by feeling a little nervous, start sweating and experience slight palpitation. But, in people suffering from panic attacks, these little triggers are perceived as a huge threat and they react with symptoms that are much more severe when compared to normal limits, which is why these people always seem to be tensed and afraid.

A panic attack is very treatable. What you need to do first and foremost is accept that you have a little problem, a problem that does not let you perceive certain painful situations in the right way. Instead of worrying about all the reactions that happen in your body when the mind is triggered, try to focus on re-thinking and re-living that triggering situation over and over again until your mind develops the art of looking at it calmly without going insane.

Every new situation should be taken as a challenge, like a new mathematical problem where your mind gradually develops the art of solving different kinds of problems by proper analysis. Once you learn how to do this, you will see that your mental and physical health improves a great deal, which will improve your overall quality of life.

Overcoming panic attacks is without a doubt achievable and something that ultimately changed my life. If you would like to know more on how I overcame my disorder and how you can too, then visit my blog at: Cure for Panic Attacks

How to Prevent Panic Attacks and Anxiety – The Simple Guide

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/3438050

Almost every adult experiences stress related anxiety. In fact, many of us experience some type of anxiety every single day. For most people it is a normal part of life and probably don’t really consciously think about stress unless they have something to be really ‘stressed out’ about, like a big project, sporting event, or job interview. Many of us actually need anxiety to remain motivated.

But what if we’re the one in seventy five people who have anxiety which surpasses normal levels on a regular basis? When instead of helping us cope with tense situations, our anxiety becomes an excessive and uncontrollable fear of normal everyday circumstances?

Or worse, what if we experience that sudden surge of overwhelming terror, when our hearts start to race, our bodies tingle, and we become dizzy with the sensation that we have lost control and the capacity for rational thought? Clammy hands, sweating, chest pain, nausea and a shortness of breath. These are all symptoms of a panic attack, and a situation those who suffer from panic disorder quickly learn to dread.

If you have experienced either of the above situations, chances are you are looking for a means for overcoming anxiety and panic attacks. That’s a smart choice to make.

If left unabated, panic and anxiety disorders can be debilitating, and lead to further complications such as phobia’s, depression, a need for medication, and in extreme circumstances, self harm. The reality is, most instances of panic and anxiety disorder can be prevented. It’s simply a question of how.

Now for some quick tips…

If you think you might be suffering from panic attacks or anxiety disorder, first consider the possibility that your experiences might be caused by alternative factors. It pays to visit your GP and rule out thyroid problems, heart disorders, hypoglycaemia, diabetes or other environmental or hereditary medical problems.

With that done, it also helps to have some understanding of what actually happens to us when we experience an attack.

Panic attacks are discrete episodes of intense anxiety. They usually occur unexpectedly during the early stages of panic disorder. As the panic disorder progresses, the attacks themselves may become associated with certain stimuli or situations. This can establish a vicious cycle of ‘anticipatory anxiety’ whereby the situation where a panic attack originally occurred then acts as a trigger for future attacks. In severe cases, merely considering the situation without actually experiencing it can be enough to bring on an attack.

Learning how to break this cycle is a key element to permanently treating panic attacks. If you’re adamant about using natural self help methods to eliminate your panic, the good news is that there are numerous online resources which can help you do just that. In fact, if you know where to find them, you can get tips on exactly what to do and when to do it. There is one little technique alone which can be implemented immediately and is designed to stop the onset of a panic attack in their tracks. It’s very powerful!

What we don’t want to have to resort to though, is to start avoiding the situations which cause us to experience panic attacks or intense anxiety. For many people this seems like it may be the only option, but the consequences in terms of lifestyle and peace of mind can be significant. Imagine living a life where your biggest panic inducing fear is no longer present…how good would that be?

Learning how to prevent panic attacks isn’t rocket science, but it’s essential to be prepared and know what you need to do to maintain control. If you don’t, the risk is that it will only serve to make things worse.

Earlier I referred to a step-by-step method anyone can follow to overcome panic attacks.

Here’s where you can find it: Prevent Panic Attack.

Good luck with it all, and I really hope this helps.

How to Control a Panic Attack – Stopping the Fear of Having a Panic Attack

Panic attack can be an extremely frightening experience. Suddenly, your hit by a barrage of symptoms, you may feel like having a heart attack, suffocating, or losing control. This experience can be so traumatizing and real that you will feel like dieing right at that moment.

Panic attack can strike anytime, anywhere and to anyone. It don’t even need a reason to hit you. Although excessive stress can trigger a panic attack, it is completely random for most of the time.

However, once you experienced the first panic attack, the body will be put on “alert” status and the chances of having another attack is increased. This becomes a problem if panic attack occur again and again.

An important contributor to the occurrence of further panic attacks is related to where the first one occurred. For most, it happens in a place where they cannot escape easily: for example, in a train, bus, taxi, elevator, building. For example, if the panic attack occurred during a bus ride, chance are, you would be quite nervous during your next bus ride as you think panic attack might hit you again. The more nervous you are, the more likely another panic attack will happen.

With your initial experience with panic attack, you will most probably try to escape before you feel the attack coming on. Once out of the bus, the panic feeling subside and your worst fear is confirmed. You associate bus ride to your panic attack. A few more experiences confirms this and you avoid taking a bus altogether.

What I have just explained is a typical example of the development of panic attack and it can be applied to any situation. You have a panic attack at a particular place or situation. You link it to that place or situation and avoid it.

The main culprit here is fear. The fear and anxiety of having a panic attack causes it to happen. Panic attack feeds on fear and anxiety. The more your fearful of it happening, the harder and faster it will hit you. In order to control a panic attack and stop it forever, you need to attack its roots – fear.

The most effective way to stop panic attack forever is to KNOW that you will not be harmed. A large part of the fear comes from the fact that the sufferer thinks he is about to die, which is totally untrue!

Here’s a few FACTS about panic attack:

-Panic attack CANNOT cause heart attack

-Panic attack CANNOT cause suffocation

-Panic attack CANNOT make you faint

-Panic attack CANNOT cause you to go mad/crazy

Doesn’t feel like it? But its true! There more than enough medical evidence to prove all these. The symptoms feel unnatural because its a panic response from the body, your not suppose to feel it unless your in danger – which your not! Panic attack is the result of this “panic alarm” going off for the wrong reason. Use this knowledge to your advantage, KNOW that you are safe and panic attack cannot harm you. Don’t fear panic attack…and certainly don’t fear having one!

Panic Attacks Signs Symptoms and Recovery

]]>

panic attack is a distinct time period of extreme fear or discomfort that is accompanied by one or more of the accompanying symptoms.

Symptoms might include:
palpitations
sweating
trembling or shaking
shortness of breath or smothering
feelings of choking
chest pain or discomfort
nausea or abdominal distress
dizziness or light-headedness
pins and needles
diarrhea
dry mouth
headache
derealization or depersonalization
and chills or hot flushes

The two main types of panic attacks are: 1.Spontaneous attacks and 2. Situational panic attacks. Here are the definitions to both of them.

1) Spontaneous Panic Attacks These are not affiliated with a situational spark and appear to come ‘out of the blue’. These panic attacks can happen during periods of relaxation or when sleeping.

2) Situational Panic Attacks Occur either in expectancy of a situation or in a situation where an assault has previously been felt. Generally the symptoms become evident as one enters the situation.

Here are outlined a few of the fears people have resulting from the panic attack symptoms.

Three of the most basic fears created by the panic symptoms are:

1) Losing Control, Will I black out in Public? Am I Having A Heart Attack? Experiencing Out of Touch Impressions or a Sense of Unreality

2)”Am I going crazy?”

3) It is perceivable for anyone to fear they may be going crazy when they suffer from the panic attack symptoms. There’s so little actual public awareness of mental illness so people frequently leap to extreme conclusions. These conclusions are generally based on misinformation and an active mental imagery.

4 more fears of panic attack sufferers are:

1) Losing Control

During a panic attack, because of the symptoms the people are experiencing, they are inclined to believe they are going to “lose control”. This deprivation of control can be physical’ i.e. – that all your critical organs will completely lose control of themselves and descend into total chaos or that the person will mentally lose a grasp on realness. Oftentimes, it is those who detest being embarrassed in public, suffer from this fear the most.

One thing you must remember is. You are not going to lose it. As a matter of fact, I am pretty confident, that with all the panic attacks you might have felt in public places.  The chance that somebody even made the observation that you were embarrassed is slim to none. In the society that we live, we are naturally social animals and fear to be seen in some kind of embarrassing situation. i.e. Doing something we feel is against the “social norm”, such as yelling out in a restaurant or maybe even bolting out of a get together with no explanation. In the end, even if we do embarrass ourselves In a public situation, what does it matter we are only human.

2) Passing Out in Public

Panic attack symptoms are usually brought on by a feeling of being light headed, which in turn brings on the fear of blacking out or fainting, usually this happens in public places. The reason this fear escalates to this extreme is because if you black out in a public place we become defenseless, especially whenever we do not have a friend with us. The overwhelming feeling of: How and who will help me if I am passed out on the floor in a public place? Automatically goes thru the persons head. Also in advanced cases, the thought of never waking up or falling into a coma crosses the persons mind.  These are just a few of the panic ridden thought process that the person deals with.

3) Heart Attacks

The concern of having a heart attack to anyone that deals or has dealt with panic attacks is a very major concern to that person. A person that deals with panic attack symptoms at some point will fear for the health of their heart. There are differing components associated with heart attacks that are not associated with panic attacks. here are some heart attack symptoms.  look and see how they are different from panic attacks.

The major symptoms of heart disease are shortness of breath and chest pain as well as irregular palpitations and fainting. Such symptoms are in most instances related to the amount of physical effort exerted. I.e.’ the heavier you exercise the more distressing the symptoms and the less you exercise the less frequent the symptoms become.

Occasionally individuals have similar concerns about their heart as they do with their breathing. People actually convince themselves that if they worry enough about their heart or concentrate too much upon its activities. Their heart will get confused and forget how to beat correctly. It is common for people who suffer from panic attacks to keep a regular tab on their heart to see if it is still beating or beating irregularly.

4) Thoughts of Unreality

Out of all the symptoms that panic attack sufferers have this symptom is the least talked about or written about.  This symptom is usually brought on by, exuberant anxiety or in other words extreme or excessive anxiety.  it is the sensing as if nothing is real, everything is not reality.  The people that feel this also have the feeling, that they are losing their minds.

People that have experienced panic attack symptoms have been reported as having beliefs of not being a part of their world or having a sense of nothing being real.  These sensations are depicted by the person as if their life is a projection of a movie.  This scenario is most often only found in people that suffer from advanced symptoms.

I mention this because the condition is not often spoken about‚ and to reassure those of you who may have experienced this sensation‚ that it is only a side–effect of excessive anxiety and will pass as soon as the body learns to relax.

This article is not meant to be an exhaustive list of symptoms for panic attacks, anxiety or stress.  But it is written to show some of the signs and symptoms that people face that have panic attacks or anxiety issues

The causes of panic attacks vary depending on each individual. Sometimes you can determine the cause of your own panic attacks, but often you will need the help of a therapist to discover the root of your anxiety. Panic attacks can be related to any of the following causes, but could be caused by a multitude of other factors:

- Loss of loved ones in your past.

- Physical or mental abuse during your life.

- The use and/or abuse of certain drugs.

- Thyroid or adrenal gland disease.

- A family history of anxiety disorders.

- Any number of fears, both conscious and subconscious.

Though you may feel your anxiety has you captive, you must move forward in understanding your problem so that you can conquer it. Once you understand the underlying cause of your fear and the triggers that cause your attacks you will be able to control these attacks and minimize their effect on your life.

?By Charles Richards ?
