Can You Really End Panic Attacks for Good?

Can You Really End Panic Attacks for Good?

Many people who get panic attacks feel like their life is basically over. They feel out of control and possibly even like they are dying. If that is how you feel, you might seriously doubt there is any way you can end these panic attacks. Fortunately, if you have the right methods, you CAN eliminate the panic and live your life again. Put your doubt aside right now, and grasp onto this hope

The first thing you need to do is take stock of your symptoms. People suffer from different symptoms, and your treatment plan might differ depending on the ones who you are dealing with. If you are seeking the advice of a doctor, you should tell your doctor what symptoms you are experiencing so they can help you end your panic attacks.

After you have evaluated your symptoms, you need to do some research. Research what works for other people by joining forums that discuss panic attacks. You definitely don’t want to focus on negative threads — focus on positive threads where people have found their answer. There are tons of people who have successfully banished their panic for good and it can be motivating for you to read their stories.

It’s also a good idea to read books and e-books written by people who have been in your situation. There are many great techniques out there that have worked for thousands of people. By reading about these methods, you can further perfect your own personalized plan to end your panic attacks. Some of these techniques are even downloadable, which is important when you need this information as soon as possible.

Another thing you might want to do is join a support group. Knowing that there are other people going through the same thing can actually help you get through it all. You feel like you’re not alone and that you’re not going crazy — this is a true disorder that you can end with some effort.

At this point, you probably have a good grasp on what your symptoms are as well as different methods you can try to eliminate your panic attacks. Not all the methods will work for you, so you need to read through them and find the ones that will! After you’ve done that, it’s time to create a plan for getting rid of your panic attacks. Take note of what you can do in the short term as well as the long-term so you can start to feel better.

Eliminate Panic Attacks

I was thinking today I might talk about the things I wished I’d done from the first day I had a panic attack to help me eliminate panic attacks for good.

I remember the day well and it was without a doubt the most traumatic day not only for myself but for my family who were with me.

1. Educate yourself on panic attacks or at least on energy. This way you will know the symptoms when they arise

2. Meditate daily -  Having a still mind lets the truth in. The truth will give you the answers and also helps you deal with past issues. You get clarity and truth in the moment of stillness.

3. Survival Kit – Always have something on you which will help you cope.

4. Strategies – Have some strategies ready for when the panic and fear arises.

5. Bring yourself back to the present moment – When you have a panic attack you have gone off in your thoughts. You often feel decentralised like your in another world or dream state. Try talking to people straight away to bring yourself out of it

6. Use your senses to bring you out of the past or future. Your thoughts start going a million miles an hour when you have a panic attack. Practice 10things I see, 10 things I hear, 10 things I feel . Keep repeating till you start to calm down and come out your mind.

7. Love yourself – Look after yourself and have great boundaries

8. Boundaries – Know your limits. Say no more often, put yourself first, put your health first, put your mind first

9. Positive affirmation – Try loving yourself enough to say I will no longer put myself down. Everyday reinforce positive affirmation until you believe them.

10. Realise feelings are just feelings – they are never good or bad they are just feelings. Close your eyes and try and feel the energy in your body. Try and see how you can change it all around. Eventually you will see its only energy building up and you can release it.

One of the best things I did the night of my first panic attack was hop online and purchase “Panic Puzzle. I have a Panic Puzzle review on the site.  You can find that here … Panic Puzzle Review.

Treat Panic Attacks Naturally

I think for every person on earth, Panic is one emotion we all want to avoid. It is a moment of great anxiety and distress. Panic attacks are unavoidable in a normal life; they are bound to come up during our very busy and fast lives. The most important thing is learning how to manage the attack so that it does not develop into something else. You must be able to take control of your emotional life after an attack so you are not left feeling devastated or depressed.

In the event of an attack, the first thing to do is take your mind off what caused the attack and rather concentrate on something amusing or pleasing. Panic is just a state of the mind and once you are able to switch your attention to something else, the effects of the panic also goes down. You are able to relax and fight off the anxiety. Do not harbor negative thoughts, as that will inflame your anxiety. By speaking to yourself, you will feel assured and the pain will die down.

It is best to relax if you have panic attack. Move away from the source of the attack if possible. You should not do any activity that makes you feel tense as well as avoid standing or working during this time. The more relaxed you are, the faster the attack will vanish. Yoga exercises provide enormous help in this direction.

Do not cut sleep to think about the stressful situation. Sleep will calm nerves and restore your vitality because sleep is the body’s way of restoring itself.
Do not feel helpless during an attack. Affirm to yourself that you are in control and that the situation will soon pass. Keep telling yourself that this is a temporary situation and that you will overcome what is troubling you.
Panic attacks occur suddenly, but they take time to subside. Give yourself time to work it out and do not try to do anything strenuous to get rid of the stress. The body and mind need time to adjust to normalcy and the smoother the transition to normal life, the better your overall health will be.

Overcome Panic Attacks through Medication and Therapy

Panic attacks can happen anywhere and to anyone. It is an uncontrollable condition where a person experiences panic in response to normal and non-threatening scenarios. However, when these incidents occur more than four times a month, it may be an indication of a panic disorder.

To Overcome panic attacks depend largely on the level of the condition you have. It is considered a panic attack when you experience these situation fewer than four episodes each month. However, if it goes beyond five and more, it can indicate other panic disorders.

Be aware that if you disregard the early stages of panic attacks and leave it untreated, it can lead to a more serious disorder that can have negative effects on your work, studies, relationships and other aspects of your life. For this reason, most doctors recommend overcoming panic attacks as early as possible through natural methods, medication or therapy.

Treatment Options for Overcoming Panic Attacks

Panic attacks occur because of many reasons, including hormonal or chemical imbalances, alcohol or drug use, stress, traumatic incidents and other events. In overcoming panic attacks, doctors will first ask you about your experiences and its accompanied symptoms, such as rapid heartbeat, numbness, trembling, chest pains, cold or hot flashes, sweating, nausea, difficulty of breathing or disorientation.

Majority of panic attack episodes last around ten minutes. During an episode, both emotional and physical symptoms increase drastically and subside gradually. Since a person tends to feel anxious after an episode, doctors suggest patients to perform simple ways of overcoming panic attacks. These simple and traditional methods of handling panic, such as breathing techniques, help in keeping you calm during a panic attack.

When natural methods to overcome panic attacks do not work, your two other choices are medication and cognitive behavioral therapy. Most experts say that both these options work effectively to stop panic episodes from occurring. The choice of treatment will depend on the patient’s preference.

While medication, such as anti-anxiety and antidepressants, takes effect almost instantly, it yields greater adverse side effects compared to cognitive behavioral therapy. When you prefer therapy, you will learn how to behave and think appropriately based on the situation or object that you’re afraid of. Cognitive therapy includes family and peer support in helping the patient overcome “fear”.

While both treatment options provide effective results to patients, many experts recommend combining cognitive therapy and medication to ensure that the process of overcoming panic attacks is long-term.

Tips to Prevent Panic Attacks and Anxiety

Panic attacks occur in one out of three people. Panic attack is a common condition that happens to all kinds of people, regardless of health, age or sex. While this condition may be one of the most frightening incidents in your life, panic attacks are not fatal or even harmful. Panic attacks can last for a few seconds up to an hour. However, four or more panic attacks may be symptoms of another panic disorder, such as agoraphobia.

People with depression, anxiety, asthma and diabetes are prone to panic attacks. This condition also appears with people taking amphetamine medications or withdrawing from tranquilizers. You should ask your doctor about tips to prevent panic attacks before your condition becomes worse.

Understanding Your Condition

Before trying out the tips to prevent panic attacks given by your doctor, you need to understand your condition to ensure you follow the treatment properly. During a panic attack, your body may experience breathless or fast breathing, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, dizziness, numbness, perspiring and hot or cold flashes.

If you experience a panic attack, you may feel extremely terrified of dying, world destruction, or any kind of doom in the near future. Be aware that the best tip to prevent a panic attack is to understand that these fears happen because of a reaction from your body triggered by adrenaline or a false alarm of danger.

Effective Tips to Prevent Panic Attacks

When you’re looking for tips to prevent panic attacks, you may have been told by your doctor to practice proper breathing to keep you calm during such episodes. Rapid breathing can blow out excessive carbon dioxide that could worsen episodes of panic attacks. The most traditional tip of preventing panic attacks is the “brown paper bag method” that you place over your mouth and nose until you feel calmed down.

Many doctors will recommend the simplest tips to prevent panic attacks, instead of exotic cures and conventional therapies. If these simple remedies work, then you don’t have to seek other treatment options to conquer panic attacks and anxiety.  A few things you can do to stop panic attacks include reducing stress, changing your lifestyle through diet and exercise, avoiding caffeine and alcohol, learning proper breathing and relaxation techniques, seeking peer support and facing your emotions.

Be aware that once you master these simple life-changing habits and techniques, you can conquer your fears and prevent panic attacks without medications or long-term therapy.
