Psychologists at the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University are looking for participants in their Wellbeing Course. This course targets depression and anxiety, and is offered online, in conjunction with the services of a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist.
The course is offered through the eCentreClinic and provides guidance about techniques that can be used to improve confidence and gain control over symptoms.
Dr. Nickolai Titov, Director of the clinic, notes that the program targets those who would not normally receive help due to barriers accessing treatment such as time constraints, geographic accessibility, fear of stigma, or complications of the symptoms themselves.
Research evidence shows a high success rate for the online program which is offered free of charge and takes 8 to 10 weeks to complete. The therapy is offered for those aged 18 to 59 who are experiencing depression or anxiety (including social anxiety).
